New interview on The Tools Artists Use

I’ve just posted an interview with the artist Paola Guimerans. She also has a Tumblr: paolaguimerans.

itsallinmyhead:

awhile back i purchased this lovely print from one of my favorite artists amy ruppel.  somehow it got lost in the mail so i emailed amy and told her i never received it.  she emailed me right back, apologized and offered to send me a larger print from her awesome, newer, & better printer.  YAY! the coolest thing is that she also gave me her number in case i had any questions or concerns.  i can call amy ruppel any time i want; of course i won’t, but that’s not the point. this may mean nothing to everyone else, but to me this is like having brad pitt’s or jennifer anniston’s number.  i’ve never been into celebrities; they don’t impress me.  sure some are talented, but i think the majority are just overpaid people who live in some odd fantasy land where most of their relationships and actions are superficial.  that sucks.  i am however impressed by artists who are able to make a living off their art.  this is an amazing accomplishment that doesn’t happen nearly enough!  just sayin.

That’s an awesome story, and I love it when things turn out that way. I feel kind of the same way about artists and other creative types. I started a new weblog a few weeks ago - The Tools Artists Use - and I’m emailing tons of artists whose work I really admire, and I am constantly surprised when they agree to participate! I’m still hesitant to email some of the artists, but so far I have yet to have anyone tell me to bugger off. :)
